The Faculty of Medicine (FK) Unpad was found on two main philosophies, namely the forgiveness of society and the togetherness of the organization. The idea to establish the Faculty of Medicine first came from the health minister Dr. Lie Kiat Teng at the IDI Congress in Surabaya in 1953. Along with the establishment of the University of Padjadjaran (Government Regulation No. 37/1957), the Faculty of Unpad also stood along with three other faculties. Throughout the development of science and technology in the field of medicine, in 1979 postgraduate education was opened in the field of Medicine.

Since 2001, FK Unpad has applied the Problem Based Learning (PBL) method using the concept of student-centered, problem-based, community-oriented, initial clinical exposure, systematic (SPICES) in the lecture process. PBL is interesting as a medical education model that can produce health workers who are able to develop themselves and can be resolved on their own, without being dependent on lecturers and institutions. In other words, a doctor who will continue to learn for a lifetime (lifelong students). While the learning curriculum with the concept of SPICES is applied to encourage students 'interest in learning and teaching students' mindsets. This curriculum integrates clinics and preclinicals and introduces them early.

Bandung State Polytechnic (abbreviated as POLBAN) is a state advocacy college located on Jl. Downstream Gegerkalong, Ciwaruga Village, Parongpong District, West Bandung Regency. Initially POLBAN was named the Polytechnic of the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB Polytechnic) because it was under the auspices of ITB. Since 1999, the ITB Polytechnic has become an independent, separate from ITB, so it turned into the Bandung State Polytechnic.
